DARKFIELD’s Séance and Flight are immersive audio-theatre experiences that unfold entirely in the dark,
Staged inside converted shipping containers, these performances use 360° binaural sound, physical effects, and theatrical design to create intensely atmospheric worlds that disorient the senses and provoke powerful psychological responses.
Each experience places participants at the center of a unique narrative Séance explores the boundaries between belief and illusion in a Victorian séance setting, while Flight plunges you into a familiar airplane cabin where multiple realities may unfold.
With complete darkness and expertly crafted soundscapes, DARKFIELD challenges what you think is real, offering a multi-sensory experience like no other.
DARKFIELD is a collection of multi-sensory audio experiences that challenge the senses, exploring the depths of human psychology and perception.
Each DARKFIELD experience takes place inside a custom-built shipping container and uses binaural audio, sensory deprivation and sensory effects to place the audience at the center of a narrative completely at odds with the space it occupies.
Run times vary depending on the container you choose:
SÉANCE: allow 20 minutes, run time approx 16 minutes
FLIGHT: allow 20 minutes, run time approx 16 minutes
COMA: allow 25 minutes, run time approx 22 minutes
Please note that due to the unique nature of the experience, there is strictly no late seating. Latecomers will not be admitted once doors close.
If you plan to book multiple shows, please allow 10 minutes minimum between the end of one show and the start of the next.
DARKFIELD uses binaural recording technology to create an astonishingly realistic 3D audio environment that tricks your brain into believing sounds are happening all around you even though you're sitting still in complete darkness.
Binaural recordings are made using two microphones placed in a way that mimics human ears often inside a dummy head with realistic ear shapes. This setup captures sound exactly as we hear it in real life, including subtle cues like distance, direction, and movement. When played back through headphones, it replicates the full spatial experience, making it feel like someone is whispering right next to you, walking behind you, or tapping your shoulder even though no one is actually there.
By combining binaural audio with total darkness and carefully timed physical effects, DARKFIELD transforms your sense of space and reality, making each show not just something you watch or listen to — but something you feel happening around you.

Service dogs have been allowed in our containers before based on the discretion of their owners.
The animal will need to be comfortable sitting in the dark for 20-30 minutes with occurrences of loud subs and vibrations happening at random; for this reason, we do not recommend bringing a service dog into SÉANCE or FLIGHT due to the sudden floor and chair movements experienced during the production.
For COMA you may have your dog in your bunk, or in one of the bottom bunks below or next to you if it is available.
We recommend your dog to wear ear protection if you have it for them.
